Merit Screw Machine Products traces its beginnings to 1928 Chicago, where it started as a modest sized job-shop on the West Side.  It quickly grew into an industry leader in the Precision Machine Products industry, and in the 1960s constructed a 16,000 sq. ft. facility nearby in Broadview, Illinois.  The state-of-the-art shop housed automatic screw machines such as Acmes, Davenports, Brown & Sharpe's, and Escomatics.
